On March 20, 2010, the combined forces for the Cactus Corvair Club and the Tucson Corvair Association met to enjoy a day of picnicking and conversation at the Casa Grande Ruins National Monument in Coolidge, Arizona. There were a total of 12 Corvairs in attendance: 4 from Tucson and 8 from the Phoenix area.
The event, sponsored by the Cactus Corvair this year, was well attended and there was plenty to eat. The TURBO grill was in fine form, but without Dave Lynch it just wasn't the same. The Cactus club had a friendly people's choice vote for the best cars. The red '63 from the Phoenix club, pictured below, scored the most votes and was the well-deserved winner. Second place was shared shared by two Tucson cars, John and Amy Young's '65 coupe and Van Pershing's '66 Stinger.
It was a great party with great hosts. See you next year!
